The Garden Reminds Us There is Still Life in Us

Working with plants shows us that something that looks dead on the outside can still have a lot of life in it on the inside. What a valuable lesson for life.

We often see people who look like the walking dead, or we ourselves may feel like death walking. But as we care for our plants, we learn that many things that look or feel dead, often only look that way. When we scrape the side of a brown, withered stem and see bright green tissue inside we are reminded that even among those of us who look the closest to death, deep down there are often signs of life.

When we know there are signs of life, that is where we place our focus.

We trim so that life has less competition.

We treat so that life has less resistance.

We give time so that life can restore and regrow at its own pace.
